Philosophy & Bio

Philosophy

Abbot Kinney Kids believes that all children can grow up with a love for music and the arts. Research shows that music and art promotes brain development as well as social and emotional growth when taught in an open loving environment. At Abbot Kinney Kids we teach children social, cognitive and emotional skills needed for a healthy future. We achieve this by giving children a place to think freely as well as use their own ideas and feelings to create positive and lasting memories and friendships. Children are encouraged to learn from their experiences, their peers and their teachers, and as teachers we allow ourselves to learn from the children and allow the children to lead us in our exploration as teachers.

Toddler Based Program: Abbot Kinney kids is a toddler based program. We specialize in toddler transitioning and socialization. Our toddler group is a small class size (14) which allows more hands on learning. Using our music based curriculum we teach fine and gross motor skills, socialization and independence. We believe that this early toddler stage is an important time to teach independence and socialization, which will aid these children in future Preschool and Kindergarten settings.
